Nos Galan

08:00

The Nos Galan Races commemorate the Welsh runner Guto Nyth Bran and his legendary athletic prowess. Held annually on New Year’s Eve in Mountain Ash, in the Cynon Valley, South Wales, the Adults' and Childrens' Races follow a 5km route around the town.

This year like last Dusband will be running. Last year he had some company in the form of my Best English Friend Forever (BEFF for short) but this year he's a bit more organised and though he's running alone (with the other 300 or so participants) he's running for Cancer Research UK.

The race starts about 7:30pm after the fireworks (eee!) and the elite race and he will be finished around 25 minutes later.

Cancer Research UK is a charity very close to Dus' heart as he lost his mum to breast cancer on New Year's Day 2000. Every holiday season we specially talk about his mum and his sister Chicky gave us all a candle to burn in her memory which we keep using. It's lasted a couple of years now and when it gets a bit lower we'll just pop tealights inside. Now would be a great time to insert a pic of Jane's candle but it's packed ready for our move so I'll post one with our New Year's Eve pics.

Anyway, so Dus is collecting sponsorship and if you'd like to help him towards his £200 target you can go here to donate a little something.

Here's a pic of Dusband in his running gear last year. I'll take a pic of him in his Cancer Research UK running vest on New Year's for you :)

Love you all lots,

Samantha xx
