Ok, so remember the rose t shirt by Melly Sews that I pattern tested for her?


So....it's the Spring top sew along over at Made By Rae so I took the rose T shirt pattern and mixed it up a bit with a one piece top, an extra drapey front and a layer of this orangey brown voile over the burnt orange jersey fabric that I made the top from.

Everything I used was from my stash (holla!) so this top didn't cost me a penny! (except for my serger that I bought but I didn't buy it to make this top, it was just a happy coincidence - otherwise this would be the most expensive item of clothing I've ever owned!)

I had the flower appliqué in my stash too which just gives the top a little bit extra interest.

I'm entering this top into the Made by Rae Spring top sew along. Thank goodness for this competition otherwise I'd never have given making clothes a go!
